The Roofing Project
Okay, I know you are all excited to read this entry! Here is the plan. June 13th and 14th we are going to rip off my roof (wood), build a dormer, re-sheath it, and re-roof it. There will be plenty of work for all to enjoy. Jim and Lana will be gone, but their house is available for all to stay in. Just so you can begin planning. Thanks

My Time Table
Hey there everyone, just thought I would let you all know my timetable this summer, so that you can begin planning you Yellowstone vacations/projects. So, Trish's dad is flying in from Michigan June 9th, so that is their deadline to be into the new house. Kristen is having a baby in October and has given me a finish the main floor deadline of October 1st. As any of you can attest, this is a small window in which to complete my project. (I expected to begin earlier, but you know how that goes). So, worse case scenario, I leave the attic partially undone and finish that once we move up. Now, all summer I am working and taking no vacations except for our family reunion in Boise July 4th. So, I can use help anytime anyone can come, but there are two main things I will need help with: one weekend of tearing off wood shingles, re-sheathing, framing a dormer, and roofing; and then the drywall/taping. The drywall will be late August hopefully, but the roof can be anytime after the 9th. We can do that in the beginning or whenever. I would prefer the beginning, so possibly in June, before the reunion if that works. So, let me know which weekends would work for you, we could even do it the couple days before the reunion-whatever works. I can and will take work off whenever I need to. Worse-case scenario, I can do other stuff in June and we can do it in July, but the earlier the better. Let me know, and start planning your trips!
Love you all and thank you for whatever you can do in advance.

Sorry Kirk
I am an idiot and TOTALLY left out the Bourne movies. Just wait until next weeks' poll.
BTW Isn't it nice that after our loss of Weston's funny comments that suddenly Marshall starts commenting? Does anyone else find this very convenient? I like it.

Weston's alive & well at the MTC
Weston is ok and doing well in the MTC. He is studying hard about 10 hours a day and says his attention span is much better than most!!! His email is: westoncap@myldsmail.net Please write him at both. But, letters are pretty nice for a young man alone. Let him know we still remember him.

Here's the deal . . .
Okay, so I left the old songs on. I realize they are getting old, but I was still able to add something like 55 songs. So, when you hear a song you absolutely do NOT want to hear anymore - let me know. When I delete a song, I can add another one - so if you take away a song, you have to replace it with another one!
ENJOY!
ENJOY!
A Happy Note on the Economy (at least in Utah)
Salt Lake is #6 on the list of the ten most "recession-proof" US cities.
6. Salt Lake City, Utah
Median home price: +2.5%
Unemployment: 3.1% (from 2.6%)
Key growth: Education and health services, +5.5%
Though Salt Lake City's unemployment rate is rising, it's still among the lowest of the country's 50 largest cities (Washington, D.C., is second, but declining home prices kept it off our list). The state is still creating jobs, just not as quickly as its labor force is growing. A November 2007 report from the U.S. Conference of Mayors projected that Salt Lake City would be one of the few large cities in the country not to suffer a decline in gross metropolitan product from the mortgage crisis.

This week's poll
We need a "none of the above" category. I can't vote in this one because I don't like any of these Bobs.

Farewell Weston
Weston entered the MTC Wednesday the 7th. He was happy and ready to go. Kati, Christy, Jonas, and Val & I were able to take him in. His new address is Elder Atwood, MTC Mailbox #216, IL-CHIS 0528, 2005 N. 900 E., Provo, Utah 84604-1793 I'm sure he would love to hear from all of you. Thanks, mom
Sumthin new
Any request I get for the blog I take very seriously. So, the music has been changed to a quick fix for now. I had this playlist already made of piano music that I think is beautiful - although boring for a blog. (This is supposed to inspire me to PRACTICE my piano because "you will never play REALLY well, unless you PRACTICE!") So, it will be a band-aid for now - I need COMMENTS to give me ideas for a new playlist!! If each person gives me 4 or 5 songs we could have a list really fast! So, think of songs people!

Interesting Parallel?
And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us abread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.

For those of you who couldn't make the blessing we took a few pictures. It was a good day and Joe gave a beautiful blessing. I can't believe he is already a month old. Amazing how fast time goes. We are just getting ready to move now and only have a little over two weeks left in Texas. Hope everyone is doing well and if it is not too much to ask (Kati) can we erase the music and get a different selection. We like what we had but it would be nice to mix it up a bit. If not we will live. I say Kati because does anyone else know what or how to work this blog sight.

YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS UP
Hillary Clinton enthusiastically picked a filly named Eight Belles to win the Kentucky Derby and compared herself to the horse. Eight Belles finished second. The winner was the favorite, Big Brown.
Eight Belles collapsed immediately after crossing the finish line, and was euthanized shortly thereafter.

This is interesting . . .
Since 1970 gambling revenues in Las Vegas have fallen only once. After 9/11 they dropped 1%. Yet, so far this year gambling revenues in Las Vegas have dropped 4%.
There is a very interesting article in NEWSWEEK about the economy in Vegas. I'm just sayin'. Interesting.

Congrats to Doug
I just noticed that no one officially congratulated Doug for becoming the next president of the USA! (At least for the Atwood family) So, congratulations President Douglas!
CRAZY?...
I would like to clarify something--though this speaks more to the title of Doug's post than anything else. No one, as far as I am aware, disagrees with the complete mess in which we now sit. Everyone in the family has their own perspective and way to describe our current situation--I focus on economics more, some conspiracies, some abuses of power, etc. No one is anti-end-of-the-world, so don't worry about posting anything. We need to keep everyone informed on all kind of stuff, whether it is up our specific alleys or not.
This is from the VATICAN, people!
Click HERE for an article about the catholic church no longer letting the LDS church catalog their records. Is it just me, or are things shaping up to be pretty scary?
Anyway - I am perplexed about our poll this week. I really expected the LEAD answer to top this one. I wonder if people are not being honest with themselves? Ha! Or maybe we have random people answering on our poll. Which is okay. It gives us more to talk about! I love the polls - don't you?

update of the Stoney family
Hello everyone. Just an update with our lives. We are blessing Bridger on Sunday and want you all to know you are invited. Sacrament starts at 11:00. Other than that we are just getting ready to move. We are slowly packing and I am going to have a garage sale this saturday fun fun fun!! Anyway, I thought we had plenty of rice around here until I went to the store today and the shelves were empty. Oh wait that is because it was payday yesterday and everyone has money today. The worst day of the month to go shopping. I rarely go during this time but I haven't really done much since the baby was born so I thought I would get some stuff and start feeding my husband again. Well, love you all and will write again soon. Maybe with some blessing pictures.
