Here are some more pics of Carter. I tried to give an idea of what he looks like because when people ask me, I don't know. To me he just looks like Carter. He is 6 lbs and has been there for a few days. They will do another swallow test on Tuesday to see if he is ready to eat. For those who don't live here, the last swallow test showed he had acid reflex and that he aspirated when he ate. So they put the tube past his stomach to his intestines to see if that would give his little body a break from all the stuff going on inside. We'll see if its all still a problem or if his muscles has naturaly matured enough to handle it. He's been where he is for about three weeks so I tell myself that he's getting better on the inside, where I can't see it. Keeps my moodiness down which Kirk likes.
The rest of us are doing great and are allready ready for school to be out. I thinks thats about it so we'll see you later (most of you anyway).

same old same old...

Just a little update on Carter, he's the same. Thanks for your time.
Alright, a little more detail. He is doing well but has little bumps along the way. He isn't getting off his oxygen very well, which is normal. he got down to 2 liters but when they try going to 1.5, they have to put him back up. They have tried this three times and now it looks like the might have to go back to 3. Of course, if you've notice my other children and their lack of- motivation is the wrong word, he fits right in. He alwo was asperating when they tried to feed him a bottle so on Friday they stopped trying to feed him orally and are doing a test on Tue. to find a solution to this problem. They'll try different positions and also different thicknesess of formula to see what he is comfortable with. Worse case, ans this is very rare, they put o little tube in his tummy and we feed him that way until he grows out of it, usually a few months. They will send him home on oxygen and everything else looks good so we're just waiting on him to eat. The nurse, and they all say different things, said after the test, he could be home in 10-14 days. So send out prayers that this is the case and he can come home. Again, thank you all for the prayers you have given for him. We're going to crash the system! Not that I'm joking at a time like this. On a different note, he weights 4-15 so he has gained 2 lbs.
I think this has gone on long enough so I'll end before you all change sites. We love you all.

We are just about in our house totally--floors and walls refinished, and getting all of our little odds and ends taken care of. We don't have any internet yet, so it's been hard for Kati to post or change the blog, but we'll get that set up soon. We'll put up some pictures of the house soon. We are grateful for everybody's help.
