Quote for the day:

"Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves--to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life."
Ok well I can't figure out the song that I really like.  Googling a song that you don't know title or singer or words is pretty impossible.  So I will have to go with another one.  Summer lovin, on Greece..... Just kidding what I am really going to say is Sweet Home Alabama.  Admit it you just started singing it in your head didn't you.  In fact you sang the words as you read them.  That has to be a good song.  I don't know the singer but I'm sure that Joe Buck knows it so there you go.  This I think will go along with Joe Buck's parameters.

Because mom finds pictures of our house exciting.

Okay, so I've been doing polls forever, but I wanted to do a more open-ended poll. What is the greatest (secular-ish) song of all time? You need to post your proposed song through either comment on this post or another post, and in about a week we'll put all of the songs up on the blog, people can listen to them all and then vote in an official poll. However--we will give a few parameters. It should be a song that you could listen to at any time, in any mood, with pretty much any body. It should also be not labelled EXPLICIT if you were to buy it on iTunes. I go first. "Days Like This" by Van Morrison. Kati votes for "Waka Waka" by Shakira (theme for the last world cup.

Romney Speech - 10 Minutes

I thought this was funny - especially after the two debates.

Good New

Due to the incredible lack of excitement in this family, BYU football, conspiracy theories and the US dollar, i've decided to outsource the creativity that used to be found here to Chinese bloggers.  Please check back often for the new and improved, slightly more creative, exciting and actually used Atwood family blog. Random thoughts...

First of all, where are some cute pics of our newest nephew??? We are on pins and needles here in Idaho to see him. Second of all, how many lightbulbs are there actually in the Atwood house? We are on pins and needles here in Idaho to know how close we were. And lastly, ever since they put Taysom Hill in to play, all I have running through my head is "Hiillll! Hiillll! Oh where is Hill?!?!" We're on pins and needles here in Idaho waiting to see him play again. Next year.

Not A Sports Post - For Kimmy

For those of you interested in possible Book of Mormon geography, here is a little note:

In November of 1860, David Wyrick of Newark, Ohio found an inscribed stone in a burial mound about 10 miles south of Newark. The stone is inscribed on all sides with a condensed version of the Ten Commandments or Decalogue, in a peculiar form of post-Exilic square Hebrew letters. The robed and bearded figure on the front is identified as Moses in letters fanning over his head.

"Ignore the product. Go to the website (Amazon) and read the customer reviews." Sweet Jesus, I laughed so hard!

(Also: Riley stinks....Bronco man crush...Doman....play Hill....BCS yucky...blah, blah, and etc.)

What does your candidate say/think?

This is a great website for all of us. It caused me to change my vote from Gary Johnson to Virgil Goode - at least so far :-)

OK so I thought I would post here and give a little update of our lives so that this isn't completely a sports blog.  No offence, I like the updates and reports of our dear dear Riley but just in case someone wants to know about other things, as meaningless as they are, I will tell you what is going on with us.  Some of you didn't know that we have moved to Dubai.  So I will tell you.  We have moved to Dubai.  We have lived for the last month or so.  The kids got into a school called Braydenton Prep and Bryar is in Kindergarten and Bridger is in preschool.  It is super quiet now around the house.

I just got a calling last week as the Relief Society Secretary which I really like.  Just a little organizing I can do that.  The "better"...ha ha ha...calling was Joe's.  We are still getting over the shock.  He is the second counselor in the Bishopric.  Needless to say I'm super excited to go to church now and sit with four children by myself.  But no complaining.  If Christy can do it so can I Cause, "anything she can do I can do better.... I can do anything better than her".

Anyway, we wish we could be part of all the football excitement, (or maybe not if it is as disappointing as it sounds).  We do watch a few random games over here and we do get ESPN so don't think that we don't have everything that we need.  Before this gets too long and you all stop reading I will just say we miss you all and love Shane the most for making plans to come and visit.  If you want to get on our top ten list we have a bed waiting for you.  Or I should say the top of our top ten list.  Love you all and if you are interested in any pictures hop over to our other blog and there are some there.

Good News Everyone!

TornBySports has received information this morning from a source close to the BYU football program that senior quarterback Riley Nelson’s football playing career is over. The source also said that an official announcement from BYU could be made soon. The injury to Nelson’s back that caused him to sit the entire game against Hawaii, has supposedly been present since the Weber State game and has limited his affectiveness on the field since. According to our source, it has since been determined that it has put an end to Nelson’s college football playing career. If so, 22 year-old Taysom Hill would likely be named the starting quarterback for BYU. This season, Nelson has a QB rating of 122.8, with 754 passing yards and has completed 58.7% of his passes. He’s thrown five touchdowns and interception each. He has also run the football 36 times for a total of 84 yards. He has failed to find the endzone on the ground this season. this is just a report from a random page, so who knows if its actually true, but one can dream, can he not?
