Christmas Card for LAZIES!

Sooooooo, I printed all of my Christmas cards at Costco, and they were all messed up, so I am returning them. No time left for new ones, so here is what you would've received in the mail, y'all!

Also, special shout out to Kati for the wonderful family pictures! We love them. And now YOU TOO will all enjoy our family picture. Which, I'm sure, is what you are all wanting.

So I'm posting this a bit early because like last week it will not be a fast task.  The fun this week will be to have each member of the family make their own snowflake.  Please have these done by Thursday and a picture posted of the process and of the final product.  Mom and Dad will then be the judges of each snowflake and give out the awards and post them before the next task.  The three points will go to the most beautiful, and the two points will go for the most detailed.  But all snowflakes will get an award.  Thank you all for playing and this one is anyone's game.  (Thank you Kristen for the idea).

I teach them correct principles, and they govern themselves.”

I teach them correct principles, and they govern themselves.”

In April General Conference, 1993, Elder Richard G. Scott taught  “The Lord uses that pattern with us.  You will find correct principles in the teachings of the Savior, His prophets, and the scriptures--especially the Book of Mormon.  While easy to find, true principles are not easy to live until they become an established pattern of life.  They will require you to dislodge false ideas.  They can cause you wrenching battles within the secret chambers of your heart and decisive encounters to overcome temptation, peer pressure, and the false allure of the “easy way out.”  Yet, as you resolutely follow correct principles, you will forge strength of character available to you in times of urgent need.  Your consistent adherence to principle overcomes the alluring yet false life-styles that surround you.  Your faithful compliance to correct principles will generate criticism and ridicule from others, yet the results are so eternally worthwhile that they warrant your every sacrifice.”

For this week it will be a simple task.  Each family will email me a fun idea for next weeks post.  Something fun that you will want to do as a family.  The idea that I use will get the full points.  I may use the second place the next week or I will just pick the idea that I would use next.  Be creative and fun.  Good luck to you all.  Feel free to think about it for awhile this is not have to be posted quickly just by the end of the week.   Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

White Christmas - Jeff and Kristen

Johnson's Song

Silent Night by Val & Jolyn

Ok kids here is your next task.  The first week we gave you all a song.  We are now half way there and are bringing that song back to haunt you.  Remember I told you to be brushing up on it.  Here is your next task.  You will need to sing that Christmas carol you were given as a family and video record it.  All family members (babies are always excluded in all tasks) need to be in the video and singing the best that they can.  Good luck to you all.  Hope you remember your song!!!
Ok I need a QB.  Who is going to Trade me.  I don't have any good ones.  Never get out of the teens if I get into the teens.  And Tony Romo is now out (not that he was that good anyway)

Welcome to the Party Pal!

It took a while, but we made it. (tams and I)

Words of advice for Kristen...

Josh Gordon is one of the best receivers in the entire NFL... don't trade him right as he's about to come back...

Sorry Jeff... she deserves to know...

Val & Jolyn

And then there were seven

For this week our task is going to be a bit of a flash back.  There is someone in this family (and I won't say who), who does something very special every year for us all to see.  Then she is so kind to show us her great accomplishments.  So this is the day we honor her.  Today or tomorrow or sometime this week you will need to PEEL AN ORANGE IN ONE PEEL.  If you are capable of this great feet post your picture of your orange in one piece.  Not even a little bit can be missing.  Good luck and may the force be with you.  (All adults must do it for the points.  Kids will be an extra point).   Oh the memories.

Happy Halloween!

Saturday, November 8, 2014

Here are our Halloween costumes.  We are the five little monkeys jumping on the bed.  Kim was going to be the Mommy monkey and Dad was the Dr. but last minute Dad couldn't be there so mom was Dr. instead.

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Ok Family members.  Here is the twist I said would be coming.  Anyone who receives a letter and texts me will get an extra point.  The sender will also get a point.  So if you get a letter and want that extra point text me the following.

jeff got a letter from christy

Then I will give a point to each.  You have potential to get a bunch of extra points if you are the lucky receivers of letters.  Only the adults count.  No points for the children sorry.  That would not be fair to the singles and mom and dad.  Good luck everyone.  Hope you get a letter.

Eight weeks till Christmas

Hello there family.

Your next task is to have each member of your family write a letter/picture/note  to someone else in the family.  Pick people and write them a kind letter.  This letter then has to be sent in the regular mail.  Email will not count.  It has to be in an envelope with a stamp.  Everyone likes to get some mail.  As soon as all members of the family have written a different person, and the letters are stamped and in the mailbox you can email, post, or text me. Babies are exempt but if you are over three you need to send out something to someone.  Also in two days there will be an add on to this post so be watching for it.  Extra potential for extra points.    You also might want to be brushing up on your song wink, wink, wink.

The task for this week will not be as easy as last weeks.  We would like you all to email me pictures of each member of your family.  They need to be baby pictures under the age of one.  Preferably 6 months to one year.  We need one for everyone adults and kids.  Good luck.  Remember that each of these tasks has a purpose and will be brought up again.  Shane, Weston, and Marshall we need one of each of you as well don't think you are off the hook!!!
You will not need to post on the blog this week you will email me instead. Take as many emails as you need.  When I get all of your family you will get the points you earned.  They can be emails from you or anyone.  Just get them to me.

Please email these to this email address.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas :-)

There will be many opportunities to add more points to your score.  Don't get discouraged the first day.  We hope you all had fun.  In the letter I stated that I will be posting your new assignment every Monday at noon but We figured that was not fare to those who are working.  So now it will be posted Monday at 6:00 PM your time.  Then all should be home and can participate.  Good luck going forward.  I still see some people without their songs up.  Keep working!!!!

our song is Silent Night. Elder and sister atwood

our song is frosty the snowman

Shafted!

This is an outrage!  How am I supposed to have Christmas Spirit when I can't get a hold of the right people.  I will just make a guess that our song is Feliz Navidad.  Who wouldn't think of that classic Christmas Carol.  I will continue to participate but just know that this round is done under protest.

Kirk
Our song is White Christmas.

We are the winners

Shane conveniently forgot our song, but we are declaring ourselves the winner. He will send it to us later. (Likely after he gets his)

Amazing

disclaimer: i watched these silently but i highly doubt there is any language, or probably no talking at all for that matter...
my bet is that mom can't finish this one because of heights,

but this one is more tame on heights but more amazing on tricks.

Mike & Jamie Weight's twins

For any of you older kids who remember Mike & Jamie Weight, these are their little twin girls who have grown up and are cheerleaders here in Missouri.  We re met Mike & Jamie at the VC last spring and went to lunch with them last week.  He was the Bishop in the same ward that Brandon Workman was the Bishop (right after him.)  They were so fun to visit with.  They still regard American Fork 25th Ward as a turning point in their life and love the memories of it.  They were 7 years trying to have children, only to be surprised and excited to have these two.  Now they have four children, two younger boys.  These twins were born in AF and were babies when they moved.
