Today's Reading in the Book of Mormon

The BoM definitely is an example written for our time.

"For as their laws and their governments were established by the voice of the people, and they who chose evil were more numerous than they who chose good, therefore they were ripening for destruction, for the laws had become corrupted.  Yea, and this was not all; they were a stiffnecked people, insomuch that they could not be governed by the law nor justice, save it were to their destruction." Helaman 5: 2-3.

Not only were they corrupting their laws, they were too proud to obey God's laws and commandments.  Let us be humble enough to be obedient to His laws in all the ways we can.

If so, keep your covenants with more exactness than you ever have before! And then ask for angels (a.k.a. your ancestors and other loved ones) to help you with whatever you need. Or ask for them to be dispatched to help those you love!

I have digital copy of Gramdpa Vern's Plan of Salvation Chart. It's great for a Sunday activity. Also, try reading a story from your ancestor stories book you each have. Some of the grandchildren are reading them. Just an idea you can use on a Sunday afternoon.

Family History

So, we were doing some family history today on Family Search.  Emily was browsing through her ancestors on Kristen's line (which happens to have had some professional geneologists), and Emily found this line:

Yes, we found ancestors that include David, Ruth... along with Abraham, Noah, Methuselah, and here you see Adam (through Seth).  We took a screenshot of it just for fun.  However, the bad news was that it states there is not enough information to do Adam's temple work.  Maybe someday he will get it done though.
