Jeff & Kristen's Christmas Letter

Hey everyone, Since we are too lazy to mail you all Christmas cards, here is the letter that Kristen wrote to the few we did send out. (you can scroll down a bit to see the picture we sent with it). By the way, good to have you home Joe!

Seasons Greetings to our family and friends! It seems that this past year has gone by so quickly, and we can hardly believe it is time to be sending out Christmas cards. We have been in Idaho Falls for almost three years and in our home for one year. We have enjoyed getting to know the people in our neighborhood and are feeling at home here. It has been so nice to be in a home, although we are still living in the basement and renting out the top. We enjoyed “experimenting” with a garden this summer—who knew that squash and zucchini were so productive! We also started landscaping our yard a little and have great plans for it!
Jeff has had a busy year! He completed his appraisal training and will be licensed and certified soon! This year he traveled to Las Vegas, Seattle, and Salt Lake City for classes. He is enjoying his work and stays quite busy with it and his church calling. He is pleased with the way BYU (football) played this year and is already looking forward to next season.
I (Kristen) am staying busy with a busy husband and two active kids! I really enjoyed spending time outside this summer and fall with the family. I also enjoyed reading some great books and trying some new recipes this year. I had my appendix out in October, but thanks to a great ward family and two wonderful moms, it was a smooth recovery. It is amazing how much time and energy a family takes, but I feel so blessed to be at home for Jeff and for the kids.
Emily turned three in September. She has been a great help since Joshua was born, and loves to be at my side all day. She loves to read and often sits down with a book on her own. She knows “Peter Rabbit” by heart; Jeff and I love to hear her recite “the sparrows flew to him [Peter] in great excitement and implored him to exert himself!” Talk about a vocabulary!!
Joshua had his first birthday this October. He is such a busy boy. I feel lucky if I get his diaper changed. Forget about putting the pants back on, he’s too busy!! His favorite things to do are to empty the kitchen drawers, empty the bathroom cupboards, and splash in the bathtub. He also loves to be read to. He is picking up more and more signs and says “cracker”, “daddy”, “clock”, “woof”, and “quack, quack”. He is truly a joy.
We hope this holiday season finds you all healthy and happy. We hope that you feel the love of the Lord in your hearts. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.
Lots of love,
Jeff, Kristen, Emily, and Joshua
