There is no way the defense would have been able to hold up during overtime. It's not like we kept them out of the end zone on 4 turnovers and 5 fourth down conversions. I say you go for the win and then not kick an onsides kick (again) when you don't get it

But why? That is one heck of a risk when you have just gone on a 95-yard drive, your new quarterback has completed a pass to your team in that quarter, they have only gotten 65 total yards in the second half, you have all the momentum, they don't trust their field goal kicker at all, and even if you make it they still have plenty of time for a final drive - so making it does not even ensure victory. To me, the upside of going for it well outweighs the downside in that situation.
Besides, you do bold things to win these close games - that is, if you don't really believe you should be that close to such a superior opponent. Bronco must have insider knowledge we are not privy to stating that the Broncos are a top 5 team in the country or something - we would obviously not have had a chance in overtime. Therefore, that was a low risk, high reward play call!
Don't worry though, in case you were afraid, he also stated in the post game comments that "Reilly is our quarterback. I just want him to be healthy. I don't have any different feelings about him than I did going into this game." In other words, it was Riley's health that caused the last two poor performances - nothing to do with finally playing against decent defenses. So, luckily we get to continue with the man that was 4 for 9 for 19 yards with 3 interceptions and 1 fumble in just over 3 quarters of work. Although to be fair, I must mention that he also had 7 rushes for 13 yards - so he does bring that second dimension to the offense.
